Africa Share & IPO Review
Read the company. Check the price. Test the downside. Use your own figures to compare valuation ratios and the cash consequences of a share purchase.
All monetary inputs below use XAF. Enter figures from the same company, currency and share basis. Historical company figures and assumed future outcomes are separate.
1. Enter the share and your assumptions
Use the actual broker’s lot size and fee schedule. The default lot of one is an assumption. The dividend scenario starts at zero; it is not copied from past dividends. Choose any dividend assumption explicitly. No likelihood is assigned to a price change.
2. Read the company figures
Optional: leave a figure empty when it is unknown. EPS and past dividends must cover a comparable annual period; book value is a balance-sheet figure per share. Check splits, dilution, auditor notes and whether EPS is basic or diluted.
No ratio by itself labels a share cheap, safe or suitable. Compare companies with similar businesses and accounting bases; a low ratio can accompany serious risk.
Enter a number in every scenario field, or load the hypothetical example.
4. Keep the evidence with the review
Record the price or offer document date, accounts period and issuer source. These notes are supplied by you and are not independently verified here.
Source notes are incomplete. This is a calculation from your inputs, not a verified issuer dossier. Inputs stay in this tab. Download stores a local CSV; this form does not send your figures to an account or server.
Before an IPO or share purchase
- Find the issuer’s current audited accounts, prospectus and latest announcements through the BVMAC — Central African regional exchange source portal ↗. A portal link is not a live KAPORAL equity feed.
- Confirm the offer dates, security, application channel, minimum lot and investor eligibility with the issuer and applicable regulator. An approval notice does not prove an offer is open today.
- Read debt, cash generation, dilution, controlling shareholders and use of proceeds. Check the share and currency bases behind each figure.
- Test a loss, no dividend and a delayed exit. Check trading volume, spreads, custody, tax and transfer limits separately.
How these calculations work
P/E = price ÷ positive annual EPS; earnings yield = annual EPS ÷ price; dividend yield = past annual dividend ÷ price; payout = past dividend ÷ positive annual EPS; price/book = price ÷ positive book value. Yields and payout are expressed as percentages. A missing denominator stays unavailable.
Whole lots are bought only within the budget including the percentage buy fee. Final value is unused cash plus the assumed sale after its fee plus the separately entered dividend cash. These calculations are educational; you make the decision.
